Conference Attendance Grants
We are committed to supporting our members (and particularly our early career researchers) through the award of conference attendance grants. All student, postdoc and technician members are eligible to apply.
Our conference support grants are primarily targeted to facilitate attendance at annual NZSBMB meetings, or larger meetings that NZSBMB is affiliated with.
2024:
This year the society will be fully covering registration fees for at least ten PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows to join us at the Biomolecular Horizons Conference in Melbourne 22-26 September 2024! This offer will take the place of our usual travel fellowship application procedure, and means we can offer support to even more of our members to make it to the congress.
We are also delighted to announce one extra round of conference attendance grant submissions to help facilitate your participation in national or international conferences! Mark your calendars - submission deadline for this year is at the end of August. Stay tuned and keep a close eye on those deadlines to ensure you don't miss out on your chance to travel and mingle.

Application information
Our conference support grants are primarily targeted to facilitate attendance at annual NZSBMB meetings, or larger meetings that NZSBMB is affiliated with. Support to attend additional scientific meetings is also possible, but will be assessed on a rolling basis, and may have different value depending on demand.

● Applicants must be current financial members of the NZSBMB.
● All students, postdocs and technicians are eligible to apply. If you are uncertain of your eligibility status, email newzealandSBMB@gmail.com.
● Awardees must present a poster or a talk at the conference.
Conditions of the award:
● If a recipient is unable to attend the conference (for whatever reason), then the Grant will be forfeited and is not transferable or redeemable as funds towards any other conference travel.
